Episode 8: Matty's Star Wars Party!!!

Ok so I've been totally busy running rug rats around and haven't updated my blog in forever but I'm back and armed with pics from this incredible party we threw for Matty over the summer. Wait till you see what we were able to pull together in just shy of a weeks time! We had just taken them to Legoland and so had vowed to keep it simple but if you know me, I don't know what simple means. 😜. I did however pre buy the backgrounds so that made it faster to design all the graphics exactly how I wanted them to look...

Bam!!! Perfect! If I do say so myself. 😁

My older boys have been collecting Star Wars toys since they were young so we used some of those collectables as decorations. It was fun to get those old ships down and see them played with again. It was like Christmas morning!!!
I love buying Gatorade because I can find it in my party colors and use my water labels to give it and added pop. It was a bit windy so we used the bottles to hold down the table clothes too.

For party favors we used pool noodles from the dollar store and duck tape to make light sabers. Then I bought two $5 flat sheets from Walmart and made Jedi robes literally the night before.
I had purchased these cookie stamps from William Sonoma a few years ago. I dyed the dough so we wouldn't have to frost them.
EJ made the cake again. He's getting so good at fondant!!!

I got to use my Mason jar drinking cups again! Yipee!!! We served Jedi Juice and Yoda Soda.
Our very fun snack table!

For the piñata we thought it would be fun if the stick was a light saber so we used a dowel, some chalk paint and more duck tape!

Here is a close up of the Gatorade bottles.  Yes, I am that crazy about details! :)

This little dude was the cutest little Jedi! He posed with our real working R2-D2 which the kids enjoyed playing with.

For Jedi training we played 2 games. First my hubby filled several balloons and tested the kids ability to aim their light sabers. They had to hit the balloons.
But mostly they entertained them selves with the foam light sabers! Even the dad's had fun! They loved that they got to take them home too along with their Jedi robes!

I made this Yoda wreath for the front door out of a dollar store foam wreath, felt from Joann's, ribbon and then the light saber is a chop stick I wrapped in green streamer and duck tape!  I hung it on the front door.  It is proudly displayed on my big kids door now that the party is over!
