Halloween jack-o-lantern lollipop tutorial!!!

I'm still working on my class treats for the little's Halloween parties but wanted to take a moment to make a tutorial in case any of you would like to make these for your kiddos!!! This one is for the pumpkins.  The tutorial for the eyeballs is in the previous post found here: http://www.lilpartyanimals.com/2015/10/halloween-eyeball-lollipops-class-treats.html

For Materials you'll need:
orange tissue paper (I found a pack of all orange at Walmart for .99 cents!)
Avery reinforcement stickers found in the stationary section, also at Walmart
lollipops (side note: I bought tootsie pops because of their size and they were perfect for the eyeballs but I think if I were to make these again I would use blow pops. The bottom of the wrapper is problematic to my perfectionism πŸ™ˆ)
floral tape- I already had this but I believe they would carry it at Walmart too. Check the floral department.

Step 1: Cut your orange tissue into pieces. Again, no art to this. Just make sure it covers the lollipop and has a little for the stem.  Cut a little slit in the center. I doubled up to cover the wrapper.  On the outside piece place your reinforcement sticker around the hole you made. This will keep the tissue from tearing when you push the pop through.
Step 2: push your pop through and then gather the tissue upward.
Step 3: take the remaining tissue at the top at twist it so that the head of your jack-o-lantern is snug. This is also the base of your stem.
Step 4: wrap your stem with green floral tape. It's sticky and really easy to work with! Also in this picture you can see that I covered the bottom of the wrapper that was showing with some orange washi tape I had.
Step 5: the last thing you need to do is draw a cute face on! I used a sharpie.
Optional: I added a cute little tag to them! Andrew is super excited to give them out on Friday! Especially since it's his first year of school! 😊
Happy Halloween! πŸŽƒ

Halloween eyeball lollipops class treats!

Matty is in 3rd grade now and so I wanted to find a treat he could give out that was a little more grown up but still cute! I found this idea and made my spin on it.  I bought a bunch of tootsie pops because I liked the size of them.

The I cut out pieces of white tissue paper. No art to this. Just figure out how much will cover it and make sure you double up to cover the color of the tootsie pop wrappers.  To keep the tissue on I tied bakers twine around them and attached little tags that said "Eye hope you have a Happy Halloween! From, Matthew"

I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out a strip of green vinyl circle for the pupil. They measured .35 inches.
I placed one green dot in the center of each white pop.
Then I drew a black dot in the center of them with a sharpie.
The last step is drawing on the red "blood shot" squiggly lines. Again I used a sharpie. And then I was done!!! How cute are these?! I hope his friends love them as much as we do!

Episode 8: Matty's Star Wars Party!!!

Ok so I've been totally busy running rug rats around and haven't updated my blog in forever but I'm back and armed with pics from this incredible party we threw for Matty over the summer. Wait till you see what we were able to pull together in just shy of a weeks time! We had just taken them to Legoland and so had vowed to keep it simple but if you know me, I don't know what simple means. 😜. I did however pre buy the backgrounds so that made it faster to design all the graphics exactly how I wanted them to look...

Bam!!! Perfect! If I do say so myself. 😁

My older boys have been collecting Star Wars toys since they were young so we used some of those collectables as decorations. It was fun to get those old ships down and see them played with again. It was like Christmas morning!!!
I love buying Gatorade because I can find it in my party colors and use my water labels to give it and added pop. It was a bit windy so we used the bottles to hold down the table clothes too.

For party favors we used pool noodles from the dollar store and duck tape to make light sabers. Then I bought two $5 flat sheets from Walmart and made Jedi robes literally the night before.
I had purchased these cookie stamps from William Sonoma a few years ago. I dyed the dough so we wouldn't have to frost them.
EJ made the cake again. He's getting so good at fondant!!!

I got to use my Mason jar drinking cups again! Yipee!!! We served Jedi Juice and Yoda Soda.
Our very fun snack table!

For the piΓ±ata we thought it would be fun if the stick was a light saber so we used a dowel, some chalk paint and more duck tape!

Here is a close up of the Gatorade bottles.  Yes, I am that crazy about details! :)

This little dude was the cutest little Jedi! He posed with our real working R2-D2 which the kids enjoyed playing with.

For Jedi training we played 2 games. First my hubby filled several balloons and tested the kids ability to aim their light sabers. They had to hit the balloons.
But mostly they entertained them selves with the foam light sabers! Even the dad's had fun! They loved that they got to take them home too along with their Jedi robes!

I made this Yoda wreath for the front door out of a dollar store foam wreath, felt from Joann's, ribbon and then the light saber is a chop stick I wrapped in green streamer and duck tape!  I hung it on the front door.  It is proudly displayed on my big kids door now that the party is over!
